About the Role

The Safety & Human Factors Advisor position is available in Brisbane, reporting directly to the Manager, FRMS & Human Performance. The role involves supporting the Fatigue Risk and Human Factors team with the implementation and management of the Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) and Human Factors (HF) Program. You'll be responsible for interpreting data, presenting insights, analyzing trends, and telling stories to inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Manager, Human Performance and FRMS, in embedding human factors within our working environment
  • Engage with the Audit and Investigation team to satisfy the Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Data interpretation and management of crew safety reporting as applicable to the FRMS
  • Provide advice to stakeholders based on conclusions, including possible risk mitigation strategies
  • Maintain compliance within the FRMS and HF sections of the SMS document site

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Formal qualifications or equivalent experience in safety or aviation management
  • Practical experience applying Human Factors and Fatigue Risk Management principles into operational systems and processes
  • Experience in rostering work rules in an operational environment
  • Proven ability to analyze data and provide reliable advice and recommendations
  • Experience in designing policy and process
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing
