About the Role

This Data Insights Strategist - Strategy and Operations role at Xero involves leading high-impact analytics projects to support senior leaders across Strategy & Operations. The role requires generating pan-Xero insights, aligning closely with senior executives, and developing a strong understanding of customer and business needs across multiple contexts and geographies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Analysis and Modeling: Develop analytical models and perform deep dives to convert data into actionable insights.
  • Data Storytelling and Visualization: Support executives and decision makers using data in a simple and effective way, with world-class storytelling and data visualization skills.
  • Data Domain Expertise: Build a deep knowledge across multiple data domains.
  • Strategic Analysis: Deliver quantitative analysis to aid Xero-wide Strategy process.
  • OKR Monitoring and KPI Setting: Help drive the monitoring of OKRs for Xero and setting company-level operational KPIs.
  • Cross-Portfolio Metrics and Reporting: Create cross-portfolio metrics and reporting.
  • Pricing and Packaging Decision Support: Provide decision support for Pricing and Packaging decisions.
  • Work Roadmap and Backlog Management: Manage the roadmap and backlog of work.
  • Initiative Prioritization: Advocate for the prioritization of initiatives within the team and with external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in analytics or SaaS, in a stakeholder-facing capacity or as a technical practitioner.
  • Project Leadership: Proven ability to lead analytics projects from end-to-end.
  • Dashboards and Analytics Delivery: Experience in delivering analytics in the form of interactive dashboards.
  • Advanced Analytics Techniques: Experience in applying advanced analytics techniques and statistical methodologies.
  • Leadership and Professional Maturity: Leadership experience and exceptional professional maturity.
  • Innovation with Data and Analytics: Demonstrated experience innovating with data and analytics to create value.
Technical and Non-Technical Competencies:
  • Technical Competencies: Highly proficient in SQL, comfortable working with complex datasets, proficiency in Tableau, and experience with statistical languages.
  • Non-Technical Competencies: Commercial mindset, excellent communication and data storytelling skills, and ability to influence varied stakeholders.
