Job Description

The role of a Support Teacher in an inclusive education setting is multifaceted and requires a professional who can create a nurturing environment that is learner-centered, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies and practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy, evaluating their effectiveness, assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes, and communicating these to students, parents, and the community.

Furthermore, this position involves overseeing the development of Personalized Support Plans which clearly outline adjustment requirements in language discernible by teachers, and complying with all evidence requirements for NCCD timelines.

This is a collaborative role that requires working closely with the leadership team, teachers, and other staff members to contribute to the professional life of the school and foster a positive school culture.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes and establish positive relationships in the pastoral care of students, supporting their spiritual and moral development.

The teachings and values of the Catholic Church form the foundation for learning and teaching in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Commitment to engaging with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve the best educational outcomes for students
  • Passion to support students' spiritual and moral development
  • Proven experience in teaching Year 1 and Year 2 curriculums is highly desirable
