Job Opportunity:

Are you a skilled professional with a passion for leading and managing teams? Do you have a strong background in civil engineering or a related field, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality customer-focused services?

As the Consents and Permits Lead within our Roads and Maintenance department, you will be responsible for managing a team of direct reports and overseeing the delivery of works on roads and infrastructure. This is a key role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to staff, consultants, contractors, and the community on responsibilities under relevant legislation
  • Monitor, measure and report on the status of consents and approvals against service level agreements
  • Manage Public Lighting requests including for new or additional fixtures or maintenance of existing Ensuring the maintenance of non-standard streetlights

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma qualification in civil engineering, or Several years' experience in a related field such as construction or project management, or A lesser qualification with substantial relevant customer service and staff management experience in a technical environment
  • Proven ability to manage, support and lead a team in a technical environment to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Demonstrated experience in managing customer service functions, including complaint resolution and conflict management
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information and legislation to make informed decisions and resolve issues within a regulatory and, ideally government environment
  • Proficient in relevant software systems and databases for permits, works management and reporting
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
