Thiess is looking for Diesel Fitters to fill positions at our off-site rebuild facility at Mt Thorley.This role will suit someone looking for a role that is predominantly a dayshift Monday to Friday position where they will not be required to travel to or work on a mine site.Alternatively, it will also suit someone looking to get a start as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic in the mining industry as Thiess can provide a pathway into a site-based role for candidates looking to upskill.In this role, you will:Assist with machine overhauls and component change outCarry out general repairs and servicingCarry out the necessary work to ensure equipment is mine-site and MDG15 compliantAbout YouAll experience levels are encouraged to apply, however, this position will ideally suit someone who has experience maintaining the following machinery:Caterpillar off-highway trucksCaterpillar tracked and ancillary equipmentYou will have:Relevant Trade Certificate - Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or similarClass 'C' Drivers licencePost-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earth moving industryExperience in general maintenance, diagnosis, component changed outs and servicing of heavy earth moving equipmentSelf motivation and a strong work ethicWhat Thiess Can Do for YouPermanent full-time positions - workshop basedCompetitive ratesOvertime available with overtime rates paid5 weeks annual leaveParticipation in the Black Coal Long Service Leave SchemeThiess' commitment to training & developmentSalary sacrifice options – novated leasingRange of corporate discounts including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products.About UsAt Thiess, we partner with our clients to deliver excellence in open cut and underground mining in Australia, Asia and the Americas.
