Job Title: Research Project Officer

The team is seeking a skilled and motivated Research Project Officer to work on a research project aimed at improving crop production and pest management.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct plant transformation and tissue culture
  • Maintain insect populations
  • Perform transient leaf expression assays in Nicotiana benthamiana
  • Care for plant populations in the glasshouse/growth cabinets
  • Assist in planning experiments, participating in project meetings, and collaborating with team members

Requirements:

  • Relevant trade certificate/diploma/bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience in biological science
  • Experience in plant transformation and tissue culture
  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology reagent preparation and conducting PCR assays
  • Excellent organisational and record keeping skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
