The Senior Pricing Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Pricing & Practice Economics Team (PPE) in developing and implementing commercial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a hybrid working arrangement of 60% in-office time, with flexibility to accommodate individual work styles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pricing Infrastructure Development: Contribute to the ongoing development of pricing infrastructure for the firm, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Bid Support: Collaborate with bid teams to provide pricing and negotiation strategy for panels and tenders, driving competitive advantage and maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Commercial Terms Review: Review commercial terms and manage client pricing arrangements, liaising with clients' procurement and legal operations teams as required.
  • Estimate and Proposal Support: Assist partners and lawyers in responding to requests for estimates or proposals, including designing and implementing alternative fee arrangements.
  • Profitability Analysis: Utilize pricing tools and financial models to assess profitability and influence partners with pricing decisions.
  • Innovation Support: Work closely with the Innovation & Digital Solutions team in pricing legal technology services and products, driving strategic initiatives that improve efficiency and deliver positive outcomes for clients and the firm.
  • Talent Development: Assist in the management, training, and development of Pricing Managers and Pricing Analysts.

Requirements

  • Background in Law Firm Pricing: A background in law firm pricing or pricing in another professional services environment is essential.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels of an organisation and influence outcomes.
  • Bid and Tender Experience: Experience in bid and tender processes, and dealing with procurement and/or legal operations is highly valued.
  • Leadership and Development: Experience managing others or a team, with a genuine desire to learn, grow, network, and mentor others.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient Excel skills with the ability to analyse raw data and draw out insights.
  • Critical Thinking: The ability to think critically, solve problems, and be comfortable with complexity, ambiguity, or uncertainty.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Presentation: Strong presentation skills and proficiency in PowerPoint.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills with the ability to co-ordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree: An undergraduate degree qualification in Business/Commerce/Law or related professional degree is required.
  • Certification in Change Management or Project Management: A certification in change management or project management would be highly valued.
