Clinical Registrar in Medicine

(Permanent – Part-Time / Full-Time)

We are a rapidly expanding Health Service recognized as a sub-regional provider, currently enhancing our facilities, including a new Emergency Department and Operating Suites.

This role offers invaluable exposure and experience, equipping the doctor with the essential skills and knowledge required for a Clinical Registrar. The Clinical Registrar will assist in managing both medical and admitted patients.

The position involves rotating shifts including AM, PM, weekends, and night duty (ND) at the acute medical ward, encompassing the admission and care of patients under the guidance of senior medical staff. Responsibilities also include responding to emergency calls and critical situations.

Additionally, the role entails managing patients admitted under the medical ward consultant to specialized units such as the Infusion and Treatment Unit (ITCU) and Hospital in the Home (HITH). Clinical support will also be provided to the haemodialysis unit under the supervision of nephrology specialists and the acute medical consultant. There will be opportunities to engage with subspecialty units, collaborating with visiting consultants in infectious diseases and gastroenterology.

The Registrar will actively supervise junior medical officers and medical students within the acute medical ward. This is an unaccredited registrar position.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current Medical Indemnity Insurance
  • Relevant certified qualifications
  • Working with Children's check (Victorian)
  • Police check dated within a year of first presentation
  • Current Immunisation and supporting evidence
  • 100 Points of certified Identification
  • CV with two relevant and recent references or referee contact details
  • Provider and Prescriber Number
