Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Director to lead our accounting and finance function at Yara Pilbara. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling, governance, insurance, treasury, and tax, providing strategic support to the organization and its stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and support the Finance team in accounts payable, financial reporting, financial planning, analysis, tax, and office reception.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance and procedures, as well as external regulations and requirements, through effective accounting and financial processes and reporting obligations.
  • Coordinate cost control activities, including analysis and proposals for improvement actions.
  • Evaluate and verify investments and capital projects.
  • Coordinate the statutory audit and Board Audit Committee process.
  • Manage cash flow, funding, insurance, and treasury requirements.
  • Manage income tax compliance and tax planning, including broader responsibilities for the Yara Australia consolidated tax group.
  • Prepare and present board papers, budgets, business plans, financial forecasts, road maps, risk analysis, and assessments.
  • Lead and provide support and guidance to the finance team, including performance management and development.
  • Provide decision and strategic support to the broader organization, including the Board of Directors and management team.
  • Offer financial support and training, performance measurement, and follow-up to the management team and operations.
  • Serve as a point of contact to central expert organizations within Yara and stakeholders within Joint Venture Partners.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior finance role.
  • Possess high-level communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Experience in oil and gas, chemical processing, or Mining and Manufacturing desirable.
  • Fluent verbal and written English is essential.
  • Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
