Perth, Western Australia Yara Full time

Yara is seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Director to lead the accounting and finance function of Yara Pilbara. This 14-month fixed-term role will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for providing strategic support to the broader organisation and its stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior finance roles, with at least 10 years of experience in financial management, budgeting, and cost control. They will also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be fluent in English. Additionally, experience in oil and gas, chemical processing, or mining and manufacturing would be highly desirable.

About the Role

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and support the Finance team, including accounts payable, financial reporting, financial planning, tax, and office reception.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance and procedures, as well as external regulations and requirements.
  • Co-ordinate cost control activities, including analysis and proposals for improvement.
  • Evaluate and verify investments and capital projects.
  • Coordinate the statutory audit and Board Audit Committee process.
  • Manage cash flow, funding, insurance, and treasury requirements.
  • Manage income tax compliance and tax planning, including for the Yara Australia consolidated tax group.
  • Prepare and present board papers, budgets, business plans, financial forecasts, road maps, risk analysis, and assessments.
  • Lead and provide support and guidance to the finance team, including performance management and development.
  • Provide decision and strategic support to the broader organisation, including the Board of Directors and management team.
  • Provide financial support and training, performance measurement, and follow-up to the management team and operations.
  • Act as a point of contact to central expert organisations within Yara and stakeholders within Joint Venture Partners.
  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent computerised management system is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Planning, Budgeting, and Cost Control processes.
  • Capable of leading a group of people.
  • Capable of maintaining team spirit and harmony among group members.
  • Should have very good communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Analytical approach to resolve problems.
  • Occasional travel to plant site in Pilbara may be required (around 4 times per year).

About You

  • Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior finance role.
  • Possess a high level of communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Experience in oil and gas, chemical processing, or Mining and Manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience.
  • Possess a high level of communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Fluent verbal and written English is essential.
  • Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
