About Yara Pilbara Fertilisers

Yara Pilbara Fertilisers is a leading ammonia production site with a significant presence in the global market.

We have taken our ammonia process further downstream by establishing a joint venture with Orica at our Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant.

In collaboration with ENGIE, we will build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Director for a 14-month fixed-term role.

This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for overseeing Yara Pilbara's accounting and finance function.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading and supporting the Finance team, including accounts payable, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, tax, and office reception.
  • Overseeing accounting and financial processes to ensure compliance with internal governance and procedures, as well as external regulations and requirements.
  • Coordinating cost control activities, including analysis and proposals for improvement actions.
  • Evaluating and verifying investments and capital projects.
  • Coordinating the statutory audit and Board Audit Committee process.
  • Managing cashflow, funding, insurance, and treasury requirements.
  • Managing income tax compliance and tax planning, including broader aspects for the Yara Australia consolidated tax group.
  • Preparing and presenting board papers, budgets, business plans, financial forecasts, roadmaps, risk analyses, and assessments.
  • Providing leadership and support to the finance team, including performance management and development.
  • Offering strategic decision-making support to the broader organisation, encompassing the Board of Directors and management team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
  • CA/CPA qualifications.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior finance role.
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Experience in oil and gas, chemical processing, or Mining and Manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Fluent verbal and written English is essential.
  • Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
