Job Summary:

We are seeking a Technical Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive driving experience in the Hunter valley and possess high level leadership and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the development and implementation of optimum driving methodologies to deliver safe train handling and mitigate derailments, SPAD's and train partings.

- Develop and implement yard operations standards to ensure safe and efficient operation of services.

- Upskill Train Drivers to problem solve issues with the train, e.g. fault finding and resolution.

- Utilise simulation and train data analysis tools to assist in decision making.

- Continuously improve the technical capability of Driver Trainers to enhance train driving standards within the region.

- Conduct reviews and investigations, research and prepare comprehensive and accurate reports on operational activities or incidents as required.

- Maintain a high level of competence and technical knowledge of train and yard operations through regular performance of relevant duties.

Requirements:

- Qualified locomotive driver with extensive driving experience in the Hunter valley.

- High level leadership and interpersonal skills which encourage participation, teamwork, trust and continual learning.

- Sound investigation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

- High level oral and written communication skills.
