NDIS Mental Health Officer Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with people who are or are likely to be eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and assist them in obtaining the necessary support.

The successful candidate will have qualifications in human services or a relevant field and/or relevant work experience in psychosocial disability. They must also have demonstrated experience of working with people with psychosocial disability and supporting them to access and utilise the NDIS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify individuals who require NDIS support and help them navigate the process.
  • Work across various stages of the NDIS journey, from initial assessment to plan implementation and utilisation.
  • Build capacity within local health district mental health service staff regarding the NDIS.
  • Collaborate with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), Local Area Coordinators, NDIS Support Coordinators, NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coaches, and other relevant parties to ensure individuals are connected to the NDIS and its associated supports.
Selection Criteria:
  • Qualifications in human services or a relevant field and/or relevant work experience in psychosocial disability.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with individuals with psychosocial disability and assisting them in accessing and utilising the NDIS.
  • A current unrestricted Australian driver's licence.
