Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Specialist

Join a dynamic team as a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Specialist and play a critical role in keeping the wheels turning for our Defence Force clients.

About the Role
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks.
  • Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials.
  • Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts.
  • Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs.
  • Test and repair electrical systems, including lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection.
  • Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates.
Requirements
  • Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level of experience.
  • Open to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy vehicle experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in inspecting, repairing and maintaining Light, Medium and Heavy vehicles.
  • A current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's License.
  • An Australian Citizen able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.

  • $45.01 an hour plus superannuation.
  • A 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, with Fridays finishing at 12 pm.
