About Our Client

Our client is a leading government agency in Australia, dedicated to providing housing assistance to its customers. They are committed to forging a better future for all Australians and are seeking a highly skilled ICT Operations Specialist to join their team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and administering various ICT business systems, including infrastructure, cloud, and virtual environments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and improving ICT infrastructure, including storage, network, and virtual server environments
  • Resolving outages and incidents from identification, analysis, communication, and remediation
  • Working collaboratively across all parts of the business to understand, analyze, and deliver ICT Operational aspects of business objectives supported by the ICT Operations team
  • Tracking projects, problems, tasks, and incidents from creation until completion following guidance in appropriate systems
  • Providing support to the ICT support team and escalating to the Team Leader systems or ICT Operations manager as appropriate
  • Maintaining awareness of and following policies and ICT Operational procedures
  • Participating in team activities, including regular catchups, planning, reviews, etc.
The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in an ICT Operations team technical (administrator or above) role in a corporate or MSP environment, maintaining business systems, infrastructure, and cloud
  • 3+ years' experience in delivering ICT projects, including planning, implementing, and maintaining
  • Strong understanding and experience in networking, SAN, and virtual environments
  • Experience in maintaining and supporting Windows and Active Directory, Linux, desktop, laptop, and mobile platforms
  • Strong understanding and experience in cloud environments, including Microsoft 365 Hybrid and Azure Stack
  • Broad understanding of typical corporate ICT operational environments in Australia, finance
  • Sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to match and deliver ICT operational solutions to organizational goals independently or as part of a team
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ICT solutions in a simple and concise manner and build and maintain documentation libraries for solutions
