Opportunity Overview

This is a 12-month non-ongoing contract with potential to extend or become permanent.

As an APS6 Financial Accountant, you will work under experienced managers who provide mentorship and career development opportunities for their team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss statements and reconciliations.
  • Maintenance of fixed assets register and general ledger, including preparation of daily updates and forecasting.
  • Cash flow management including daily updates and forecasting.
  • Contributing to Audit and Risk Committee reporting including maintaining financial controls and positive liaison with external audit.
  • Development of technical accounting papers using discretion and initiative to interpret policy and applying the Australian Accounting Standards to the Agency's transactions and balances.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting are required.

CA/CPA qualified or progressing towards qualification is preferred.

Knowledge of PGPA Act and Rules is essential.

You must be an Australian Citizen with an existing AGVSA baseline security clearance.
