Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Officer to play a key role in our finance function. This is a newly created part-time role that will oversee end-to-end Accounts payable and Receivable functions. As a senior member of our small and friendly team, you will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, including month-end and year-end reporting, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and maintaining financial records. You will work closely with external accountants to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and regulatory updates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting functions, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial record-keeping
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts and manage payables forecasting
- Collaborate with external accountants on tax matters and monitor regulatory updates
- Manage payroll processes, employee records, superannuation payments, and ATO reporting
- Ongoing review and management of debtors, including communication with external stakeholders
- Support and engage team members, fostering a cohesive and productive work environment
- Prepare and manage company budget, presenting monthly reports to Directors
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Completion of a Bookkeeping or Accounting Certificate
- Solid understanding of financial and management accounting principles
- Experience with finance systems, budgeting, and government finance reporting processes
- Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of risk and compliance management
