Maintenance and Facilities Manager

  • The Maintenance and Facilities Manager's role is to maintain and repair physical aspects of buildings and resources, manage contractors, and ensure budgetary responsibilities are met.

A safe environment must be maintained for staff, residents, clients, volunteers, and visitors.

Main duties include:

  • Ensuring documentation meets accreditation standards and applicable Australian regulations.
  • Risk assessments and safe work method statements must be implemented.
  • Emergency maintenance situations must be assessed and responded to within agreed SLA.
  • Regular activity reports for delivered services must be provided, and recommendations for service improvements made.

The Maintenance and Facilities Manager will also oversee contractor management, including:

  • Effective management of maintenance schedules for all contracted tasks.
  • Compliance with HammondCare guidelines and NSW / Victorian WorkCover guidelines by all contractors.
  • Induction and site compliance requirements for all contractors.
  • Review and recommendation of external contractors' competence, qualifications, certificates of compliance, fee structure, and documentation.
  • Valid contracts/ service agreements must be in place and in date with all external contractors prior to works commencing.

This role contributes to the development of the Preventative Maintenance Program, delivers competently and within agreed timeframes, and uses LogIt to monitor, record, report progress and close work requests when completed.

A trade qualification relevant to facilities maintenance or construction is desirable, as well as demonstrated experience working in a construction or facilities maintenance role, a current NSW White card, and a current driver's licence and willingness to travel between HammockCare sites and services.

This is a permanent full-time role based at Greenwich Hospital.
