Senior Privacy Compliance Expert

The Senior Privacy Compliance Expert ensures compliance with data protection laws across multiple jurisdictions. This role provides expert advice on privacy compliance, supporting the Global Privacy Office and aligning with local legislation.

This position leads privacy assessments, manages compliance tracking, and communicates risks and maturity to senior stakeholders. The Senior Privacy Compliance Expert is responsible for embedding global privacy standards locally, maintaining data inventories, supporting audits, and delivering tailored privacy training.

This is a mid-senior level position that requires strong leadership skills, the ability to drive compliance initiatives, and excellent communication skills. The Senior Privacy Compliance Expert plays a key role in fostering a privacy-first culture, building cross-functional relationships, and ensuring alignment between business operations and global privacy strategies.

  • Lead and complete Privacy Impact Assessments for business process changes, ensuring timely delivery and effective risk mitigation.
  • Monitor, report, and support remediation of privacy risks and compliance issues across business units.
  • Provide expert privacy advice and guidance to regional business units, backed by research and aligned with legal and policy requirements.
  • Design and deliver privacy training and communications tailored to business needs, especially in marketing and sales.
  • Develop and lead the regional Hub Privacy Programme, aligning with global strategy and ensuring local compliance.
  • Identify and address gaps in privacy programmes, especially during audits, acquisitions, or divestments.
  • Act as liaison between business units and the Global Privacy Office, fielding queries and escalating issues where needed.
  • Maintain a network of Privacy Champions to foster a culture of privacy awareness and accountability.
  • Oversee and support responses to privacy rights requests, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.
  • Create and improve privacy-related processes and documentation, including those related to third-party systems.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent business-level proficiency in Mandarin and English.
  • Certified in privacy (e.g., CIPP/A, CIPM); a degree in law or data governance is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with global privacy laws (e.g., PIPL, Privacy Act, PDPL, PDPD) in commercial settings.
  • Strong grasp of online platforms, big data, and related systems and processes.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities and delivering under tight deadlines.
  • Experience driving targeted improvement initiatives and collaborating in global teams.
