  • Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Data Privacy and Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the company's data privacy and compliance program across multiple business lines. This includes developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global data privacy regulations.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with data collection, processing, and storage. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to employees on data privacy best practices and develop training programs to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in our systems and processes;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations to stay up-to-date on the latest data privacy trends and developments;
  • Collaborating with IT teams to implement technical controls and safeguards to protect personal data;
  • Providing expert advice on data privacy and security matters to internal stakeholders and external clients;
  • Staying current with emerging data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and others;
  • Developing and delivering training programs and workshops on data privacy and security best practices for employees at all levels;
  • Reviewing and revising existing policies and procedures to ensure they remain relevant and effective in the face of changing regulatory requirements;
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes to optimize our data privacy and compliance program;
  • Managing data breaches and other incidents, including coordinating responses with IT, legal, and communications teams;
  • Reporting to senior management on progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing recommendations for improving our data privacy and compliance program.

Requirements:

To succeed as a Senior Data Privacy and Compliance Specialist, you will need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a data privacy or compliance role, preferably within the medical device industry;
  • Proven expertise in data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and others;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate complex risks;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Strong understanding of data protection principles and best practices;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to workload and priorities;
  • Relevant certifications, such as CIPP/E or CIPT, are highly desirable;
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, or related field is preferred.
