About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team at Workforce Australia for Individuals. As a key member of our remedial building team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering detailed and accurate estimates and cost plans for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimation and Cost Planning: Prepare and deliver detailed and accurate estimates and cost plans for construction projects, including remedial, new construction, and civil/subdivision works.
  • Project Management: Utilize 'Procore' software for project management and estimation tasks, ensuring seamless collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other team members.
  • Communication: Demonstrate confidence and capability on the phone when communicating with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members, ensuring effective project coordination.
  • Problem-Solving: Work independently, thinking creatively to overcome obstacles promptly, and ensure precise estimations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and costs, ensuring the highest level of expertise in construction estimation.
  • Bid/Tender Meetings: Participate in bid/tender meetings and negotiations with clients and subcontractors, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Site Visits: Not be afraid of donning a hard hat, high vis vest, and boots for the odd site visit, ensuring hands-on experience and expertise.
  • Estimate Timeliness: Ensure estimates and cost plans are completed on time, supporting project planning and scheduling.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience or hold other formal qualifications in the same field of work.
  • Background: Strong background in construction estimation, residential civil, and subdivision work will be highly regarded.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in 'Procore' software for project management and estimation will be highly regarded.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent English communication and writing skills.
  • Autonomy and Teamwork: Able to work autonomously and in a team environment, possessing a problem-solving mindset to overcome challenges quickly and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation. Strong background in Construction Estimation and residential civil work highly regarded.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in building, construction, and/or estimation.
  • Driver's Licence: Must have an Australian Driver's Licence or Australian Authority to Drive.
  • Work Rights: Must have Rights to Work.
  • Residency: Must reside within Australia and be willing and able to attend the office.
