Job Description:

The Property Portfolio Specialist supports Property, Energy and Marine General Insurance markets in Australia and New Zealand by supporting portfolios and helping execute underwriting strategies to drive profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Align Property and Marine teams for unified operations to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop effective policy wording approaches that align with business objectives.
  • Manage and work with risk engineering insights to identify areas of improvement.
  • Provide analysis for market-facing leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead portfolio improvement initiatives to drive growth and profitability.

This position is well-suited for early-career underwriting professionals who wish to gain advanced portfolio management experience and further their careers in underwriting.

Requirements:
  • Experience in general insurance, specifically underwriting, with a strong understanding of data analysis and trend identification.
  • Skilled in delivering insightful recommendations and executing strategic plans with confidence.
  • Track record of successfully managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with a focus on building strong partnerships.
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills, with a solid grasp of governance and risk management principles.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset—open to new challenges, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • ANZII CIP member or equivalent qualification, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
