Job Opportunity

Tasmanian Community Fund is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join its Board as a Southern representative.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to the positive, lasting change for Tasmanian communities. As a member of the Board, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the objectives of the Fund are met and public money is used wisely to benefit Tasmanians.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be based in Southern Tasmania and will work collaboratively with other Board members to guide the Fund's strategy, assess grant applications, and engage with communities across the State. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting and reviewing the strategic direction of the Fund
  • Assessing and approving grant applications
  • Contributing to the Fund's annual budget and monitoring performance
  • Attending site visits, presentations, and community events
  • Promoting the Fund's objectives within the Tasmanian community
Skill and Qualifications

We are looking for individuals with well-established community networks, and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Contemporary governance and strategic planning skills
  • Understanding of complex social, economic and wellbeing needs of Tasmanian communities
  • Legal, accounting, financial management, quality management, media/marketing or IT expertise
  • Stakeholder engagement and community leadership
