About the Role

This casual position requires a motivated and experienced candidate to collaborate with other crew members and the Master to facilitate smooth berthing procedures.

  • Preparation of vessels for transportation and maintenance of their safety and comfort is crucial.
  • Collaboration with the Master ensures safe securing and departure procedures are followed.
  • Daily cleaning duties, including vessel cleaning and housekeeping, are essential tasks.
  • In-water rescue and lookout duties require attention to detail and quick thinking.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude, competent deckhand skills, and confident vessel handling abilities. A passion for delivering memorable experiences is key to success in this role.

Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Deckhand role with demonstrated deck experience.
  • A valid AMSA issued Coxswain Grade 1 NC Ticket is required.
  • A Maritime Radio Operator's Licence is also necessary.
  • A National Police Check must be completed.
  • QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol certification is mandatory.
  • QLD Blue Card (Working with Children's Check) clearance is required.
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID015 CPR & Apply Oxygen certifications are necessary.
  • Bronze Medallion and crowd management certificates are highly regarded but not essential.
