Test Environment Release Manager Role

We are currently supporting a leading financial institution seeking an experienced Test and Environment Release Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of environment provisioning and release management across multiple test and pre-production landscapes. You will ensure environments are stable, secure, and available for delivery teams while managing release schedules, configuration governance, and environment integrity.

This key role involves establishing and maintaining a governance framework for deployment and release management as well as driving ongoing improvements across environment practices. As the main point of contact for environment and release needs you will balance competing priorities and resolve conflicts across teams.

  • Owning the full lifecycle of non-production environments including provisioning, configuration, refreshes, and monitoring.
  • Planning and coordinating deployments of code, configuration, and infrastructure ensuring quality gates, rollback strategies, and compliance are in place.
  • Maintaining environment schedules, configuration documentation, and communication on outages, changes, and release calendars.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for environment and release needs balancing competing priorities and resolving conflicts across teams.

You will partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely provisioning maintenance and release readiness. Conduct audits reviews and post-implementation assessments to improve processes and strengthen governance. Drive automation standardisation and best practice adoption across environment and release activities.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in environment and release management within complex enterprise settings.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC CI/CD pipelines and testing lifecycles.
  • Experience across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Skilled with tools such as Jenkins Git Jira ServiceNow and monitoring platforms.
  • Strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Release Change and Configuration Management.
