Key Role Overview

A critical interface position between the Integrated Planning (IP) team, Assets, and the rest of the business. You will be an expert in economic modelling and associated IP processes.

  • Economic Modelling Expertise: Develop and implement economic analysis systems, lead project benefits reviews, and provide strategic financial insights to support key decision-making for senior management and shareholders.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Collaborate across cross-functional teams to develop and implement economic analysis systems, and lead project benefits reviews.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Economic Valuation: Lead the economic valuation of complex business initiatives using tools like stochastic modelling.
  • Strategic Financial Analysis: Provide timely and accurate economic and financial information to support key decision-making for senior management and shareholders.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and provide insights to other team members contributing to the overall growth and success of the team.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Take ownership of deliverables and embrace an agile mindset, proactively pursuing data and insights to maintain a high quality of work.
Requirements
  • Extensive Experience: Extensive experience as a Senior Economist ideally within the upstream oil and gas sector.
  • Expertise in Economic Modelling: Demonstrate a deep understanding of global and Australian macroeconomic drivers within the industry.
  • Formal Qualification: Hold a formal tertiary qualification in finance, economics, or engineering with a master's degree or higher preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Comfortably prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and other high-level stakeholders, and exhibit highly developed communication and people skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
