This key leadership position plays a crucial role in our organization, focusing on the development and implementation of safety strategies and systems to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
">The successful candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in safety, risk management or a related field, as well as at least 3 years of experience in mining, construction or other heavy industries. Strong computer skills, high-level administrative abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in high-pressure environments with competing priorities are essential.
">Additionally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent time management skills, be able to build and maintain positive relationships, and uphold confidentiality.
">Main Responsibilities">- ">
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety strategies and systems">
- Coordinate and manage safety projects to ensure effective execution">
- Mentor team members, providing regular support, training, and information">
- Review the Risk Register and implement improvement plans where necessary">
- Coordinate the Catastrophic Hazard Program to mitigate risks">
- Ensure timely internal and external reporting requirements are met">
- Participate in risk management processes and coach staff in best practices">

- Tertiary qualifications in safety, risk management or a related field">
- At least 3 years of experience in mining, construction or other heavy industries">
- A valid driver's license">
- Auditor qualification is desirable">
- Training and Assessment Certification is also desirable">
- Sound knowledge of statutory rules and regulations">
- Strong computer skills and administrative abilities">
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments">
- Excellent time management skills">
- Strong organizational skills">
- Ability to prioritize workload">
