About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced education professional to join our team as a Teacher - Ipswich Flexible School. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering Australian curriculum to students with a history of disengagement from mainstream schooling. This is a full-time, continuing position, commencing as soon as negotiated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students, with a focus on literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's objectives and planning, ensuring alignment with the Edmund Rice Education Australia's vision and values.
  • Establish and maintain a supportive school environment that promotes social connectedness and a sense of belonging among students.
  • Collaborate with the adventure-based learning coordinator to deliver group programs that promote experiential learning and personal growth.
  • Emphasize integrated learning, with a focus on transferable skills from the Human Capabilities Framework.
  • Contribute to accountability processes, including reporting, individual personal learning plans, and requirements for NCCD.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.
About You
  • Bachelor of Education or similar qualification, with current QCT registration.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing a range of learning choices to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students, promoting positive educational and social outcomes.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, colleagues, and parents in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment to participating in critical reflection and working together under the principles of Respect, Safe and Legal, Honesty, and Participation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of working within QCAA/QCEC/EREA requirements, accountabilities, and processes.
  • Current Queensland Driver's Licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 CERTIFICATE).
  • Experience teaching QCAA Short Courses and Applied Subjects, VET, or in a flexible learning environment.
  • Skills, training, and qualifications in Trauma-Informed Practice.
  • Outdoor Education experience and qualifications.
  • Design Technology.
