The Staff Specialist - Pathology/Haematology role is a vital part of our diagnostic Haematology services at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
This position involves conducting diagnostic review meetings and participating in academic activities, with key responsibilities including:
- Providing consultation services in General Haematology, Transfusion and Coagulation, and other subspecialties of Haematology as required.
- Representing the specialty on hospital and statewide committees to drive excellence in patient care.
- Coordinating management of haemophilia and other coagulation disorders in Tasmania through expert consultation and coordination services.
In addition to these key responsibilities, the successful applicant will participate in teaching activities, including undergraduate teaching of students from the University of Tasmania School of Medicine and supervision of postgraduate specialist trainees.
This role also involves contributing to quality improvement initiatives, maintaining involvement in research activities, and monitoring the effectiveness of laboratory operations with a focus on delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
