Job Description

A Shift Supervisor will lead a State Control Centre team, providing high-quality people leadership and ensuring excellent operational performance and day-to-day function activities are achieved. This role will operate on a roster working varied shifts across 2 Day shifts, 2 Night shifts, and 4 days off.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to team members to help them deal with unfamiliar tasks.
  • Ensure State Control Centre emergency call taking KPIs are achieved to the required standard.
  • Monitor daily performance and take action when deficiencies are identified.
  • Ensure the quality of emergency call taking is maintained to a compliant standard.
  • Manage staff-related matters, including conduct, performance, fitness, and grievances.
  • Provide ongoing training for team members to ensure they can perform their position.
  • Ensure backup equipment is in a state of readiness and staff are familiar with its use.
  • As part of a surge capacity, be able to answer and handle a triple zero call within set parameters.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working and leading teams in an Operations Centre.
  • Background in corporate, health, community or operational sectors (preferred).
  • Demonstrated people management and leadership experience.
  • Complex problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant qualification in Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS) (preferred not essential).
  • C-Class drivers' license.
