Job Overview

Maintaining a world-class property requires a seasoned leader to oversee engineering operations. As the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests while safeguarding the owner's investment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advisory services to the Director of Engineering to achieve strategic goals.
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance to maintain high standards for a positive guest experience.
  • Manage the Maintenance Request System and analyze its performance regularly, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Delegate general repairs and maintenance tasks to the engineering team or contractors as needed.
  • Promote resource management improvements and conservation practices.
  • Conduct regular testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, and other essential systems as required by local regulations.
  • Liaise with the Director of Engineering and Director of Finance regarding contractor use, expenditure control, and work quality assurance.
  • Ensure cost-effective and hygienic waste removal from hotel areas, monitoring for cleanliness and odour-free environments.
  • Closely coordinate with front desk and housekeeping teams to expedite room turnaround and inventory returns.
Requirements
  • Qualified Engineer (preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer/Facilities Manager or similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical etc)
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards related to facilities management.
  • Body/Owners Corporation Experience.
  • Strong project management experience
