Forensic Laboratory Officer

Operate a range of computer software with a high level of accuracy to ensure integrity of records and reporting are maintained.
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Ability to gain an understanding of sample handling procedures and willingness to receive and handle various types of forensic material including illicit drugs, biological materials, and various physical substances.
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide quality service to various stakeholders in a large and complex organisation.
- Experience in dealing with clients from diverse backgrounds with differing needs and competing priorities.
- Ability to organise and prioritise daily workloads, sometimes working with minimal supervision and to accept non-routine tasks.
- Capacity to work independently and as a member of a team ensuring that effective workflow is maintained in fast-paced situations.
- Ability to develop proficiency in the use of various Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS).
- Ability to follow detailed documented policies and procedures with a commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality and process improvement.
Vacation Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements:
We require all employees to be vaccinated against Hepatitis B. MMR, Pertussis and Varicella vaccinations are also required.
