Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic team at Haymes Paint in Hobart. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer experiences, driving sales growth, and maintaining the highest standards of product knowledge and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and product solutions to both trade and retail customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Tint paint products to customer specifications, utilizing your technical knowledge and expertise to deliver accurate and high-quality results.
- Manage inventory control, including goods receiving and stock taking, to ensure efficient and accurate stock levels.
- Process transactions and handle customer payments with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Replenish stock, including 15L paint drums, to maintain optimal inventory levels and meet customer demand.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with repeat customers, fostering a loyal customer base and driving repeat business.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest colour forecasts and product releases, providing expert advice and guidance to customers.
- Assist with visual displays, store presentation, and housekeeping to maintain a high-quality shopping environment.
- Adhere to safe work practices and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
About You:
- Possess a valid driver's licence to facilitate local deliveries and travel to customer sites.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
- Hold previous experience working in a customer-facing role, with a proven track record of providing high-quality service and meeting customer needs.
- Have experience handling stock and merchandise, with a keen eye for detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Be physically capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting of 15L paint cans, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Be proficient in Point of Sale (POS) systems and possess basic numeracy skills to process transactions and comprehend tint percentages and ratios.
- Be able to work effectively unsupervised, with a high level of autonomy and accountability.
- Exhibit problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving customer issues and concerns.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Trade experience is highly regarded, with a strong understanding of the paint industry and its applications.
- Colour and design expertise, with a keen eye for colour trends and product styling.
