The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Laboratory Production Scientist to lead our production team and drive the development of new QC products. This senior role is crucial for ensuring the quality, efficiency, and innovation in our production processes, while also mentoring junior scientists in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead a team of laboratory scientists, provide training, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Research and Development: Drive innovation in the development of novel QC products, including planning, pilot work, and transitioning successful prototypes to full production.
- Project Coordination: Manage complex contract-production projects, maintain clear communication with clients, coordinate with suppliers, and oversee the entire production process from start to finish.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary technical support for both production and post-production testing, provide hands-on guidance and troubleshoot complex issues as they arise.
- Quality Control and Production Oversight: Oversee precise laboratory production processes—such as blood fractionation, pH adjustments, and analytical balance usage—to ensure all procedures align with high standards.
This full-time, permanent position is located in Hornsby, NSW. Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Substantial experience in laboratory production, quality control, and product development.
- Proven expertise in laboratory production techniques and extensive experience in post-production testing and troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated experience in training, mentoring, and supporting a team.
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
