Our team is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pathology Specimen Collector to join our dynamic group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting biological specimens from patients in a safe and professional manner.

About the Role

  • We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, who is able to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring all samples are labelled and processed according to established protocols.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is essential for your role, as well as collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.
  • We value candidates with customer service experience and those who prioritize patient care above all else.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting biological specimens (blood, urine, etc.) from patients in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ensuring all samples are labelled and processed according to established protocols.
  • Providing exceptional patient care, addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the collection area.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in the health, aged care or community sectors is highly desirable.
  • A Certificate III in Pathology Specimen Collection would be considered an asset.
  • The confidence to work independently, sometimes in solo collection centres.
  • Efficient time management and problem-solving skills.
  • A willingness to learn new things and enjoy variety within their role.
  • A First Aid Certificate.
