Mine Waste Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Construction Engineer to lead and monitor construction teams focused on mine waste management facilities, such as tailings dams and waste rock dumps, and related mine infrastructure.
This role will provide the opportunity to work on technically challenging world-class projects with an organization having a long and impressive history.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising field programs including drilling, testing and sampling; field mapping; program planning and coordination; earthworks construction monitoring; and contractor management;
- Preparing project budgets, schedules, and resources to assist with embankment construction to support mining operations, including deposition of tailings from the mineral process plant;
- Preparing plans for tailings establishment and construction of approved embankments to support mine extraction operation with the storage of tailings as part of the mineral processing cycle;
- Undertaking ongoing daily risk assessments to ensure the safety of mine waste management procedures, including project development, construction, and operations at the TSF.
Attributes & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mining, or Construction Engineering;
- Proven experience in ensuring projects are constructed in accordance with established design, budget, schedule, and quality parameters;
- Familiarity with relevant industry guidelines and standards;
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, technical consultants, design teams, contractors, and construction delivery teams;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
