Key Role: Tailings Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing civil, geotechnical, and tailings dam designs to ensure safe and efficient mine waste management.
  • Conducting geotechnical analyses using various software packages to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Understanding and applying tailing deposition modeling principles to optimize mine operations.
  • Leading geotechnical and environmental site characterisation projects to inform design and decision-making.
  • Designing and managing instrumentation monitoring systems to track performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Managing projects and tasks, including proposal preparation and support, to drive business growth and client satisfaction.
  • Producing high-quality engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications to meet project needs.
  • Developing strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 8 years (10+ preferred) of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software.
  • Able to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment with excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Willingness to perform field work and occasional overnight travel.
