Senior Design Manager - Energy Infrastructure Specialist

Join a leading company in the renewable energy revolution and play a critical role in building and transforming Australia's infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead our engineering delivery of substation, BESS and solar projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for technical, commercial and management accountability for high-risk delivery projects exceeding $100million.

Your expertise will drive business growth by helping us adapt to new markets and technologies. You will contribute to identifying and securing new projects/contracts through early contractor involvement and display leadership skills in engineering-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
  • Coordinate and problem solve with various teams to ensure high-quality, on-time and on-budget deliverables.
  • Build client relationships, foster strong connections and deliver timely reports on project progress.
  • Analyse complex technical studies, project scopes, specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare project delivery schedules and proposals to maximise margin and minimise risk.
  • Train and guide engineering design teams, fostering professional growth and establishing robust templates for the design management function.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Senior Design Manager with specialised knowledge of project management functions.
  • Cross-disciplinary technical expertise in substation, BESS and/or solar engineering activities, with a focus on protection and secondary systems.
  • Familiarity with protection schemes, power system modelling and relay settings.
