Music Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Music Teacher to join our vibrant team at St Francis Xavier College. As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality music education to students from Years 7 to 12.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging and challenging music lessons that cater to individual learning needs.
- Employ a variety of effective teaching strategies to successfully implement the music curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with the Performing Arts team to develop an engaging and challenging curriculum with clear learning outcomes.
- Ensure that classrooms are places where technology is seamlessly, yet actively, employed to assist in effective learning.
- Report on academic achievement to parents and make appropriate levels of contact with parents as necessary.
- Develop learning relationships with students that assist in developing the confidence and learning of St Francis Xavier College students.
- Give appropriate time to the planning of lessons and collaboration with other teachers as part of teaching teams.
- Actively contribute to a culture of teaching and learning where teachers learn with, and from, each other and actively inquire into effective pedagogical practice.
- Engage in active and continuous professional learning that is relevant to the discipline as well as concerns and debates in the education sphere more generally.
- Must have commenced or completed Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program.
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
- Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation.
- Ability to maximise student learning through the delivery of high quality teaching programs, employing effective and high yielding, pedagogical practices.
- Tertiary educational qualifications in the Music area, with the ability and willingness to teach in more than one area.
- Capacity to actively employ technology seamlessly to assist in effective learning.
- Ability to implement cooperative learning strategies to increase engagement through student centred learning.
- Active and continuous professional learning that is relevant to their area of discipline as well as concerns and debates in the education sphere more generally.
