We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced music educator to lead our Strings Department at Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar School.
About the Role:
The successful applicant will be a dynamic music educator, leader, and outstanding musician with a proven record of excellence in teaching and performance. They will be committed to their own learning and professional development, passionate about their field, and able to build a culture of success and enjoyment of their instrument by students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and lead Strings classes to students from Kindergarten to Year 12
- Develop and implement music curriculum and programs
- Lead and manage the Strings Department, including staff and resources
- Perform and teach a wide range of repertoire
- Support the School's values and mission
Selection Criteria:
- Highly developed skills as a Strings Teacher
- Appropriate music education or tertiary music degree
- Suzuki accreditation, an advantage
- Experience performing and teaching a wide range of repertoire
- Experience in leading teams of staff
- Experience in and knowledge of AMEB and VCE syllabus and repertoire
- A dynamic and approachable manner with the ability to relate to students
- Success in fostering in girls a love of learning and a commitment to excellence
- A proven record as an outstanding string teacher and leader
- An understanding of the Lowther Hall context and requirement for ensuring child safety
Requirements:
- Current Working with Children Check or VIT registration
- Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate – with a commitment to on-going training
- Willingness to undertake a National Criminal History Record Check upon appointment
