Job Overview

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees, clients, and the wider community. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of safety management principles and practices, with experience working on large infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with safety systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the project management team.
  • Administer, monitor, and evaluate project safety programs.
  • Assist with conducting incident and accident investigations, including those requiring litigation.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and monitoring of work areas.
  • Establish positive working relationships with project personnel and raise awareness of safety risks.
  • Support the development of communication tools and records for all project safety meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning project safety programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable legislative requirements, including government regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Review specific high-risk planned works to ensure compliance with the method of work.
  • Support the communication of safety requirements to the project.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Safety Advisor or similar role on large infrastructure projects.
  • Safety experience within the rail environment is highly regarded.
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and skills in safety management techniques and tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • People-focused with the ability to build strong relationships.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 per annum
