About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate cost management on assigned projects. Reporting to our Melbourne or Sydney office, you will lead cost planning, risk assessment, and value engineering exercises to optimize project outcomes.

Salary & Benefits

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Cost Consultancy as a senior-level Quantity Surveyor. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading cost management on assigned projects, ensuring accurate estimation and control throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Developing detailed cost plans and budgets for MEP components at all project stages, from initial feasibility to completion;
  • Risk assessment and mitigation strategies for MEP systems, regularly reviewing and updating risk registers;
  • Mentoring junior cost managers and team members, fostering team growth and career progression;
  • Value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance;
  • Client interaction and communication, providing clear updates on cost status, forecasts, and potential issues;
  • Quality assurance processes and regular reviews to maintain high standards of cost management;
  • Collaboration with project managers, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to integrate MEP cost management into the overall project plan;
Requirements & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or relevant experience from a trades background;
  • Experience in MEP cost management with a proven track record in managing large-scale projects;
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software such as CostX or similar, and a strong understanding of first principle estimating techniques and current market rates for MEP systems;
