About the Role

Seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to collaborate with a high-performing team on high-impact projects in defence and advanced communications sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design practical mechanical solutions for complex systems
  • Update technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and version control
  • Execute engineering change requests and implement improvements based on user and manufacturing feedback
  • Review and manage bills of materials for accuracy and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with teams to optimise designs for manufacture and deployment
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or related engineering discipline
  • 3–5 years hands-on mechanical design experience, ideally within regulated or defence-related environment
  • Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software (preferably AutoCAD Inventor), FEA, and drafting to AS1100 standards
  • Experience designing enclosures and assemblies (e.g. sheet metal, racks)
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and familiarity with electrical/electronic integration
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced project-driven environment
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach to work
  • Australian citizenship (required due to security requirements)
  • Eligible for Baseline Security Clearance
  • Eligible for RPEQ or NER registration preferred
  • Maritime or defence-related experience advantageous
