Lead a Publishing Transformation

Csiro is seeking an experienced leader to drive strategic growth and sustainable transformation in the publishing landscape.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Set and deliver business strategy, aligning publishing activity with organisational direction.
  • Identify new opportunities, manage risk, and secure resources for long-term goals.
  • Transition scholarly journals to open access model and implement financially viable commissioning strategy for books program.
  • Drive commercial success, managing budget with P&L responsibility.
  • Lead and develop high-performing team focused on customer satisfaction.

About You:

  • Deep knowledge and experience in publishing industry, proven record of success in senior leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership capability, including planning, implementing strategy, managing change, and delivering business goals.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial management experience, including full P&L responsibility and budget management.
  • Transformational leadership skills: identifying growth opportunities, leading change, and implementing new business models.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science or Business.
  • Experience working in scientific, research, or not-for-profit environments desirable.
