About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Communications Officer to join our team at the Department of Education. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the narrative of the School Leadership Institute (SLI) and contributing to the enhancement of learning experiences for teachers and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster collaborative efforts with the team and the Department of Education to drive internal staff engagement in leadership development programs.
  • Raise awareness of the SLI's work through the creation of engaging digital and written content, including videos, audios, and website materials.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management for impactful decision-making and alignment of communication strategies with the department's goals.
  • Opportunity to attend events and workshops in Sydney to network, grow, and achieve organisational objectives.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing/communications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a proactive and collaborative approach to working in a team, highly organised with excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. You will also demonstrate strong experience in digital media, website management, and content production, as well as a proven track record in developing effective communication strategies and reaching target audiences.
