About the Opportunity

The City Open Spaces team manages Council's open spaces, including golf courses, parks, and sportsgrounds, ensuring they are safe and suitable for use.

This role will undertake specialist maintenance activities for our golf courses, coordinating resources and undertaking turf maintenance and renovation activities.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Relevant trade qualifications, such as a Trade Based Apprenticeship or Certificate III in Turf Management
  • Demonstrated experience in sports turf maintenance, current trends, and industry best-practice
  • Ability to plan, coordinate resources, and undertake turf maintenance and renovation activities
  • Experience operating small plant and equipment, including hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to deal with the public and other staff in a positive and courteous manner
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to new systems
  • Hold a current 'ChemCert' qualification and General Induction for Construction Work in NSW
  • Possess a current Class C drivers Licence and competency in operating large tractors and front-deck mowers
