About the Position

In this influential leadership role within an agile framework, you will serve as the Network Engineering Product Owner – Principal. Your primary focus will be on enhancing energy efficiency, implementing sustainable practices, and advancing technological capabilities that enable Telstra to achieve its environmental and sustainability targets.

Key Duties

As a Networks, Environment & Energy Principal, you will leverage your extensive expertise to formulate, establish, and disseminate the Energy & Environment vision for a diverse network, ensuring maximum value delivery to both customers and the organization.

Your team will be responsible for:

  • Utilizing strategic thinking combined with in-depth knowledge of networks, facilities, energy, and environmental standards to create and implement power, cooling, and environmental system solutions that align with our Energy and Environment Strategy.
  • Formulating the Energy Consumption & Environment strategy, incorporating technological innovations and climate adaptation measures.
  • Contributing to the organization's climate change and sustainability objectives.
  • Optimizing energy usage and emissions reduction while delivering sustainability initiatives to meet corporate goals.
  • Facilitating the recycling of decommissioned infrastructure to support a circular economy.

Your Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Engaging in planning processes, both short-term and long-term, to inform organizational objectives.
  • Ensuring alignment of network infrastructure with broader organizational goals and providing strategic guidance.
  • Collaborating with mission team members and stakeholders to communicate the mission vision effectively.
  • Building authentic relationships with customers and key stakeholders to maintain a customer-centric approach.
  • Negotiating priorities with stakeholders to streamline work processes.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.
  • Preparing detailed analyses to align business and technological capabilities with organizational objectives.

  • Expertise in Energy Storage Technologies and Reserve Power.
  • Understanding of cooling technologies.
  • Experience with renewable energy and energy reduction strategies.

  • Exceptional influencing and communication skills.
