Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Earthing Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality earthing designs for EHV and HV electrical substations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of earthing design principles and practices, including very good knowledge of the CDEGS software package (MALZ, MALT, and RESAP). You should also have the ability to work on all types of earthing projects from inception to completion, ensuring that the project is cost-effective and delivered on time.

The role requires travel to other office locations across the UK with overnight stays where necessary. You will work closely with our clients and the wider team to build a strong relationship, providing regular communication both written and verbally.

  • You will provide earthing engineering solutions to site-based problems through the Technical Query/Request for Information (TQ/RFI) process.
  • You will write earthing reports and drawings to a high standard, providing constructive technical solutions.
  • You will conduct, supervise, and demonstrate site visits to carry out earthing assessments, surveys, and investigations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A HND with industry experience or a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree.
  • Working-level knowledge of software like CDEGS, Strike-Risk.
  • Knowledge of CAD.
  • SHEA Power/CSCS Card holder - desirable.
  • A full UK driving license.
