This position involves coordinating Ministry Discernment and Formation processes. The role entails a 3-year contract with variable FTE options, and remuneration is in line with the Diocese of Adelaide stipend package. Reporting requirements are to the Archbishop of Adelaide or designated delegate.
St Barnabas College serves the Diocese of Adelaide, the Province of South Australia, and the broader church community as an Anglican theological college. The institution offers higher education awards accredited by University of Divinity. Additionally, St Barnabas College operates as a Community of Learning for the whole people of God, providing lay ministry education and training, accredited and non-accredited professional development programs, and preparation for ordination. This role facilitates Ministry Discernment and Formation processes on behalf of the Archbishop of Adelaide.
Main Responsibilities- Coordinate Ministry Discernment, Formation for Ordination processes, and post-ordination training programs approved by the Archbishop.
- Support and resource participants throughout the various stages of Ministry Discernment and Formation, providing informed counsel.
- Provide resources for the discernment process and arrange regular meetings, assessments, and connections.
- Organize the annual Ministry Discernment Event.
- Liaise with and resource Examining Chaplains and supervising/mentoring clergy.
- Maintain up-to-date administration records.
- Negotiate with the national network of Coordinators of Formation.
- Assume duties for ordained vocations in parishes and other ministry settings as needed.
- A minimum of ten years' experience in Anglican holy orders.
- Eligibility for licensure in the Diocese of Adelaide.
- In-depth understanding of the demands of ordained ministry within the Diocese of Adelaide and the wider Anglican Church of Australia.
- Suitable parish ministry experience with ability to engage with the breadth of the Anglican Church.
- Demonstrated awareness of contemporary approaches to ministry.
- Proven leadership skills.
- A clear commitment to the mission of God in the church and growth of that mission.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong administration and organizational capabilities.
- Capacity to think strategically, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to practice integrity and discretion.
- Capacity to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with and adherence to boundaries with participants.
- Ability to handle diverse issues, make decisions, and adjust priorities.

- Readiness to travel intra- and interstate as required.
