Human Resources Manager Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our people strategy, foster a high-performing workplace culture, and drive business results.

About the Role
  • Oversee the full scope of HR operations across the organization, supporting a diverse team that drives the guest experience from front-of-house to back-of-house.
  • Lead the implementation of human resources initiatives, ensuring legislative compliance while building a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture based on organizational values.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Recruitment, onboarding, training, policy development, employee engagement, and day-to-day support.
  • Crafting and executing a clear HR strategy aligning with operational goals.
  • Understanding award interpretation, rostering impacts, and fast-paced hospitality staffing.
  • Employment Law Expertise – Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation, modern awards, workplace compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Leading with empathy, fostering strong relationships, and building trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Confident working with senior management, floor staff, and external partners.
  • Proven experience running L&D programs, performance cycles, and staff engagement initiatives within deadlines and budgets.
  • Handling sensitive people issues with discretion and professionalism.

  • Hospitality HR Knowledge, including award interpretation and rostering impacts.
  • Employment Law Expertise, including Australian employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • People First Mindset, leading with empathy and building trust.
  • Strong Communicator, confident working with various stakeholders.
  • Project & Program Management skills, including L&D programs and performance cycles.
